I was skeptical when you said "iPhone 15 Pro doesn't hold up in post" (the log profile hasn't changed at all), but then you completely lost me when you said "Apple Log doesn't have a defined color gamut"...have you not read the whitepaper? It is clearly defined as Rec2020 primaries. Stopped watching after you showed you don't even know the color space you are working in.
    From the whitepaper:
The color space describes how colors are represented. Apple Log uses RGB
primaries and color space conversion matrices as defined in the ITU-R BT.
2020-2 specification. The white point is set to the D65 illuminant.

Well I Understand YA Logic but to be quite Honest Whether YA Set Rec.2020 or DWG or Arri Wide Gamut 4 or ACES AP1 As Input Color Space It Doesn't Make Difference Because They're ALL WIDE ENOUGH TO HANDLE Apple Log.
Only ONE THING TO BE SURE is NOT USE Rec.709 As Input Color Space ❗️
What Do YA Think of It ❓

    • @MaximoJoshua
      @MaximoJoshua Месяц назад +2

@@Hafiz-p4n that makes no sense, it’s not about width…
There is a map of all colors humans can see, it’s called CIE 1931 color space. That is the horseshoe shaped chart the triangles are drawn on. That map uses x,y coordinates to describe specific colors. The gamuts are defined by the 3 x,y coordinates and their white point.
A gamut of rec2020 means that a value of (1,0,0) (in rec2020) is (0.708,0.292) in CIE 1931 xy space
      Arri Wide Gamut 3 (1,0,0) means (0.6840, 0.3130) in CIE 1931
The same code value because it is mislabeled now points to a different color…by using the wrong gamut you distort the colors.
That is why you need to know which gamut the file is in, because that gives you the key to convert its colors accurately.

What would be the point of calibrating your monitor, and then introduce a ~3% error in your color, even though it is common knowledge that Apple Log uses Rec2020?

Initially I was thinking "Isn't it supposed to be Rec.2020" but I kept myself quiet just in case I was wrong.
In fact, now that I think about it, even with other iPhones, it was always recommended to use Rec2020.

Iphone 15 pro max and 16 pro max have no notable difference in Apple LOG other than 120FPS support this year.
Can't digest the comparison you did in last, either that was a standard HEVC codec video or proxy file.

Here's a fun thought experiment. If the tool was designed to not crack anything... Then which one is true...
    1. the iPhone footage being robust enough to hold? Or
2.the qazis toolkit being robust enough to not crack anything? 🤔
